The founder of the Vasavi movement was Kalvakuntla Chandrasena Gupta. His parents were Kalvakuntla Lakshmamma and Ramanna Gupta. His native place was Nizamabad, Kamareddy Mandal, Rajampetgundi village. In 1920, they moved to Hyderabad city for business and settled in Isamiya Bazaar. K. C. Gupta was the fourth son of Lakshmamma and Ramanna Gupta. He was born on September 1, 1919.
Although he enrolled in law school to study law, he was unable to continue his studies as he was involved in many organizations aimed at serving the people. He joined a job as an insurance agent. He married Smt. K.Annapurna in 1940.
He joined the Indian National Congress in 1938. He held important positions in the Andhra Mahasabha for 10 years.
He was the only leader of the Hyderabad Arya Vysya community who participated in the Indian freedom struggle in 1942 and went to jail. In 1946, he participated in the Hyderabad Freedom Movement and went to jail. The first person from our clan to go to jail was K. C. Gupta.
After India's independence in 1948, K. C. Gupta was involved in public service. He did many services for the welfare of the Arya Vysya caste. From 1951, he completely withdrew from politics and worked for the Vysya's.
He was awarded the 'Sangh Shri' award at the All India Mahasabha held in Davanagere. He also received the 'Vysya Banduru' award. K. C. Gupta, who worked for the Arya Vysya till his last days, passed away on October 25, 2001.
He was a man who practiced honesty in word and deed and always opposed tyranny. He worked for the poor with simplicity and grace. He is hailed as a winner by the leaders of the Vysya clan who serve at the regional, national and international levels.
People should always remember him for his work for the betterment of society. They should follow his welfare policies. K.C. Gupta will always be remembered as an individual who has a special place in the hearts of the people.
